Meg Ginther
Granville, Ohio Ala Meg, Fine Silver Jewelry Design has always played a big part in Meg's life. As a college student, she learned silver smithing and silver casting techniques to create unique silver jewelry for friends and family. As an Art Teacher, she shared that Design focus within many forms of media for children and adults. As an Architect, she expressed that Design talent in three dimensional form and detail. As a collector of vintage costume jewelry, she discovered her love of fine design in wearable art. In 2005 Meg’s interest in Design in jewelry grew when she took a jewelry class making wearable art in a new silver medium, Precious Metal Clay (PMC)(trademarked by Mitsubishi). PMC is a workable silver material composed of silver particles and a binder. The silver material is sculpted, and then fired at 1650 degrees F to become a fine silver (.999 silver) piece. In 2010 Meg established her jewelry company, Ala Meg. She creates all her jewelry designs combining her fine silver pieces with gemstones, pearls, authentic sea glass and gold-filled sterling accents. Meg is a partner in Art@43023, a cooperative gallery located in downtown Granville, Ohio. She is also a Certified PMC Instructor. Ala Meg has shown fine silver jewelry at Boutiques for National and Local Organizations and local Galleries: Art @ 43023, Granville, Ohio Hands for Hospice, Newark, Ohio The American Daffodil Society National Convention The American Hemerocallis Society (Daylilies) National Convention The Ohio Gardeners Club State Convention The American Hosta Society National Convention |
